This policy was approved by the board on 27 December 2006, and was modified by the board on 24 March 2007.
In 2 June 2008 it was discovered (thread "Antonis amendment" in ga list) that 12.3 of the [ffii:www:Statutes statutes] contains a specific provision that appears to explicitly allow members to send to the verein mailing list.
The [ffii:listinfo:verein verein mailing list] is used to send email to all members of the organisation.
- People should not be allowed to subscribe or unsubscribe from this list. Instead, the mailing list administrator (the secretary or a person authorized by the secretary) should manage members of the list.
- Email going to the list should be digitally signed.
- Moderators should not approve their own messages; instead, they should allow another moderator to review and approve their email.
- The email going to that list should either:
be about organisational issues only, as required by the [ffii:www:Statutes statutes]; i.e. announcement of organisational decisions, general assemblies, etc.; or
- prior to being sent, be submitted for comment to an appropriate mailing list (such as eboard or media-help) and approved by a board vote.
